Losing weight ultimately comes down to two things:
1) Eat Less
2) Move More
The first one is easy. With the "get healthy" craze we're currently experiencing, finding foods that taste good and have less calories isn't that difficult. Every grocery store seems to carry it's own brand of "get healthy" items these days and every label seems to be screaming at us "look at me, I'm healthy!" It's no secret that this country is craving fast and easy ways to lose weight and the big brands are listening. Half the fast food restaurants you go to have the caloric value right next to the item on the menu, pretty or not. I have no idea how certain fast food chains make a grilled chicken sandwich over 1000 calories! My point is, it's not as difficult as it used to be to make the smart choices.
The second weight loss factor isn't as simple. Nobody out there is trying to make this easy for you. It's ultimately up to you to get your butt off the couch and get moving. I know, I know, easier said than done. And that's why I'm here to help. I recently lost close to 40 lbs, but I still have a long way to go. Most of that weight loss is due to making healthy changes in my diet and learning better behaviors when it comes to eating. In the past month though, my weight loss efforts have slowed down a bit. The scale is still heading in the right direction, though the question is, for how much longer? In order to keep up the pace I desire and make sure that the scale continues to go down I'm going to have to start moving more. Walking a couple miles once a week just isn't going to cut it anymore. Whether I like it or not, it's time to get active.
So, I invite you to join me on this journey as I continue to lose weight and adopt a more active lifestyle. I'll be sharing tips and tricks along the way, as well as some tasty recipes and products that I have found to be helpful. I encourage you to adopt some of these healthy habits into your own life too. I'd love to hear some tips from you as well!
Being active isn't just for the athletes anymore,
